Breaking News from the WSJ!

Census Bureau data released Monday show the extent to which strong minority-voter turnout in the 2008 election helped President Barack Obama win over swing states and make inroads into Republican strongholds.

Hope, Change and Avoiding Reality

President Obama on Monday extended by six months a task force charged with determining how terrorism suspects should be interrogated, held in custody or handed over to other countries, putting in jeopardy his promise to close the military detention facility at the U.S. Naval Base Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, by January.

The move came on the same day the president pushed back the release of a congressionally mandated report on the nation's economic conditions, and the White House began to extend a self-imposed deadline for overhauling the nation's health care system.

Liberals Hate Reality!

WASHINGTON (AP) - The White House is being forced to acknowledge the wide gap between its once-upbeat predictions about the economy and today's bleak landscape.

The administration's annual midsummer budget update is sure to show higher deficits and unemployment and slower growth than projected in President Barack Obama's budget in February and update in May, and that could complicate his efforts to get his signature health care and global-warming proposals through Congress.

The release of the update - usually scheduled for mid-July - has been put off until the middle of next month, giving rise to speculation the White House is delaying the bad news at least until Congress leaves town on its August 7 summer recess.

The administration is pressing for votes before then on its $1 trillion health care initiative, which lawmakers are arguing over how to finance.

From George to George

When get got the American Idol president, we also got a economic madman who will alter the way this country uses its Federal Government. All it cost you was your income, your children's and grandchilderen's income and your freedom. Good job.

Click below to read some of the insanity in the Obama budget.

Mr. Obama's $3.6 trillion budget blueprint, by his own admission, redefines the role of government in our economy and society. The budget more than doubles the national debt held by the public, adding more to the debt than all previous presidents -- from George Washington to George W. Bush -- combined.

That is What We have Been Trying to Say!!

It's funny to me that this is now a story. To me, this should have been self evident from the beginning. Better late than never, I guess. Please read it.

Budget Day!

So much news today.

Obama is crazy!!

My head has been spinning since Tuesday night when Obama the Great Laid out his ambitious plans as president.

To summarize: "The Federal Government can and should run pretty much every aspect of your life. The Federal Government should take as much money as they see fit from anyone they want to. Your Independence no longer exists. You are now part of the Great Dependence."

I literally can't even type because I have so many thoughts going one at one time.

This country is going to implode!

"Pork-ulus"

NO ONE EVEN READ THE BILL THAT THEY VOTED FOR!

Please remember that we get to choose who works in Washington. Shame on the Democrats for injustice that they have served the American people.

Wasted!

Hope, change and the largest single spending bill ever.

The Senate looks to spend something in the neighborhood of $800 billion. I hate big numbers because they don't mean much to people. If gave away $1,000,000 every day, it would take almost 2,200 years to spend $800 billion.

The BIGGEST question is: Will this spending help?

Wednesday, February 4, 2009

What is a Trillion?

Q: If you were to spend $1,000,000 every day, how many years would it take to spend a trillion dollars?

A: About 2,700 years! One million dollars a day for one million days.

That is what congress wants to spend with one spending package.

Don't you wish you could print your own money too.

Who do you think will have to pay that back?

US Population is just over 300 Million

Nancy says that every month that they don't have their 'stimulus package', 500 million Americans will loose their jobs...try to do the math....I don't think it works...

We Win! ...for now

The Senate lacks the vote to pass the 'stimulus package.'

The Democrats have now admitted that (surprise!) the 'stimulus package' might have a few items in it that don't directly stimulate the economy.

TAKE NOTE: The Democrats were trying to use an economic crisis to spend more of YOUR money on their pet projects and special interests.

I don't know about you, but I have my own projects and interests to take care of. Maybe they should let us keep more of our money to spend and stimulate the economy rather than sending it through the Federal bureaucracy.

HR1 - Lies and Waste!

The 'economic stimulus' plan 0f 2009 passed the house on Wednesday. Here is the link to the final vote on passage.

Note that no Republicans voted for the Federal Government to spend $800,000,000,000 that they don't have.

Note that 11 Democrats agreed with all of the Republicans that Washington doesn't need to waste another $800,000,000,000.

Congressman Shuler is a Democrat from North Carolina's 11th district. He says it so well...

Thank you Congressman Shuler.

Now it's time to let your Senators know that you would rather have a tax cut rather than the Government waste your money!

The Debate is Not Over.

A great way to 'win' an argument is to attack your opponent's character and declare that the debate is over for good. Sprinkle in some 'guilt by association' and you can shut down almost anyone.

"What the cynics fail to understand is that the ground has shifted beneath them — that the stale political arguments that have consumed us for so long no longer apply. The question we ask today is not whether our government is too big or too small, but whether it works — whether it helps families find jobs at a decent wage, care they can afford, a retirement that is dignified. Where the answer is yes, we intend to move forward. Where the answer is no, programs will end. Those of us who manage the public's dollars will be held to account — to spend wisely, reform bad habits, and do our business in the light of day — because only then can we restore the vital trust between a people and their government." President Barack Obama - Inaugural Address - January 20, 2009

The debate, as to proper roll of the Federal Government in our lives and in our economy, is not over.

Hey Barney, It's Our Money!

Barney Frank gives away $12 million of our money to home state bank...

"Troubled OneUnited Bank in Boston didn't look much like a candidate for aid from the Treasury Department's bank bailout fund last fall..."

What do we get for $850,000,000,000?

They don't know either, but they are sure ready to spend it.

A Rocky Start to Openness!

"Although President Obama swept into office pledging transparency and a new air of openness, the press hammered spokesman Robert Gibbs for nearly an hour over a slate of perceived secretive slights that have piled up quickly for the new administration. It wasn't pretty."

Can Obama Take the Heat?

The media was very controlled during the election.

Now that he is the President of the United States, Obama can't set the rules any more. He is accountable to us.

"Asked how he could reconcile a strict ban on lobbyists in his administration with a Deputy Defense Secretary nominee who lobbied for Raytheon, Obama interrupted with a knowing smile on his face."

No Free Pass to Spend Our Money

"The first drafts of the plan would result in more spending on favored Democratic agenda items, such as federal funding of the arts, they said, but would do little to stimulate the ailing economy."

New Administration - A New Era of Openess?

"A growing media frustration with Barack Obama’s team spilled into the open at Thursday’s briefing, with reporters accusing the White House..."
